On December 29, the PLA communicated through its official social media account, China Military Bugle, that this drone footage was part of the “Justice Mission 2025” exercises conducted around Taiwan. In response to the footage, Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense characterized the clip as an attempt at “cognitive warfare.” Hsieh Jih-sheng, who serves as the assistant vice-minister for intelligence, indicated that while TB-001 drones had been seen operating close to Taiwan, none had encroached into the 24-nautical-mile (44.4 km) contiguous zone surrounding the island.
